A snapshot of P5/6 Work!

Congratulations to P5/6 pupils who since Easter have set a target to read “One Book a Week”. This achievement was recognised by Mrs Murphy, Literacy Coordinator, who presented P5 pupil Ciara and P6 pupil Cailaim with the  Accelerated Reading Top Reader of the Month Certificate.

Not only did P5/6 read the classics Black Beauty and Around the World in 80 Days, they read a non-fiction book The Deadly Vikings by local author John Farrelly, cousin of P5 pupil Oisin O’Hagan.

As you will see in their short film pupils completed book reviews and character studies, created Google Quizzes and even designed and made a home for Badger in The Wind in the Willows.

On top of all this P5/6 have been busy writing, Ava wrote instructions on how to make face masks which she shared with the class while others entered a GAA writing competition to describe their favourite GAA player! It is great to see that all pupils chose to write about their own family members who have contributed so much to GAA sports in our local football clubs.

Well done P5/6 a very busy couple of weeks for you all and we all look forward to another 7 weeks of hard work!
