Christmas Appeal

Dear Parents,

It has been a very busy term in St. Mary’s and I’m sure like all of us you’re looking forward to a well-deserved break with friends and family.

Christmas is approaching fast and all our staff would like to acknowledge your traditional good will and generosity, but without offending anyone, we would ask that you do not send us any Christmas presents.

There really is no need for personal gifts for staff at Christmas, as these are gifts that we can never reciprocate. Instead, we ask that if you wish to, you would make a donation to the Southern Area Hospice or the Children’s Hospice, in the memory of Mrs Anne Murphy and the many friends and families whose lives have been touched by the work of the Hospice. We will place a box in the Office, into which any donations can be dropped off, these will be added to the £550 we have already raised through our recent Coffee Morning.

In addition, as has been done in recent years, our KS2 classes will collect for St. Vincent de Paul, we ask each child to contribute from their own money a small donation towards a class fund. Each class will then buy a gift voucher for the Parish, Appeal. Last year we were able to purchase four £50 Smyth’s Vouchers! These would have made a huge difference to Christmas for some local families

Once again, thank you for all your cooperation and support over these past few months. We wish you a happy and peaceful Christmas, and a healthy, prosperous New Year.
