Dear Parent,

Another busy few days ahead for pupils and staff, before well deserved holidays on Friday…

Monday, 17th December:

Penitential Service for P5 +P6 in St. Mary’s Church @11 am. (There is no Penitential Service for P 7 at this time.)

Christmas Party Day: Party food is on the Dinner menu and there is a free raffle organised by the kitchen staff, for all those taking dinners. To get into the festive mood classes may wear their Christmas Jumpers/Christmas colours if they wish.

“At Slieve Gullion’s” Foot Celebration Event: everyone is invited into school at 7 pm to view the P5 Artwork, P6 Drama Film and the Family Families created by pupils P3-P7 as part of the recent Michael J Murphy Winter School.

Tuesday, 18th December:

P 7 Trip to Newry Museum for Victorian Christmas Workshop. This is a morning event so everyone will be back to school in plenty of time for normal home time.

Wednesday, 19th December:

Our third Nativity Play… this time it’s the turn of Foundation Stage- P1 and P2 with their “ABC Nativity Play” . It takes place in Ti Chulainn at 7.30 pm.

Friday, 21st December:

HOLIDAYS!!!!

We will be closing early on Friday for Christmas Holidays for a well- deserved rest for pupils and staff…. over the past month we have had: P4 Enrollment Mass, P7 pupils taking part in Advent Masses in the Parish, Carol Singing, Penitential Service for P5 +P6, Switching on of the Christmas lights, P 5 Nativity, Nursery Activity, Foundation Nativity, Class Trip to Santa for Nursery, P7 Trip, a Video Conference with our Erasmus Partner Schools, Christmas Dinner, Presentation for P 5 Artwork, Presentation for KS2 pupils who took part in Coding last term, Celebration night for all those who took part in Michael J Murphy Winter School, P7 Girls Football Blitz… and with all that has been going on pupils have also taken the time to think of others: Nursery organised a “Shoebox Appeal” and KS2 Pupils have to date collected just over £100 for St. Vincent De Paul…

Well done to everyone and thank you to Parents and Friends of St. Mary’s for your support over what has been a busy few weeks. We wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year.
