On Friday our P 5 Pupils attended the unveiling of all the fabulous Art work created for the Michael J Murphy, Winter School, Schools’ Event. 4 local schools and around 120 pupils took part from: Dromintee Primary School, St. Joseph’s, Meigh, St. Oliver Plunkett’s, Forkhill and St. Mary’s, Mullaghbawn.

Each school worked with one of our local ROGHA artists, in a different media. Dromintee worked with their artist in residence, Julia Armstrong in the medium of paint. Meigh with Tracey Mc Verry, in glass. Forkhill pupils with Caoilfionn Murphy O’ Hanlon, in felt, and Mullaghabwn pupils with Sharon Donnelly in ceramics.  The theme for each school was, “The View from our Window” which for each school is a stunning view of Slieve Gullion.

Each pupil got to create their own individual piece which they will take home and also contributed to a larger piece which will displayed in their school.

Here at St. Mary’s we look forward to displaying our ceramics which form the outline of Slieve Gullion as viewed from our dinning hall window!

Well done Sharon and P5!!!
