Talk for Parents

We are delighted to offer the Parents of KS2 Pupils, (from P5 to P7), the opportunity to attend an informal talk, to be given by, Dr. Jane Mc Evoy, Child Clinical Psychologist.

“Helping Children Cope with Big Feelings”

On Wednesday, 6th of November, at 7.30 pm in school

Upset, anger, disappointment, worry, frustration, jealousy,
sadness, feeling left out…. can all be overwhelming for children. When children become overwhelmed it can be hard to not become overwhelmed

yourself!

In this relaxed event:

Learn how to support your child when ‘big’ feelings happen.
Reflect on ways in which you can stay calm when they are in chaos
Learn ways to build their emotional resiliency for the future.

Last year, Jane spoke with Parents of younger pupils, we are sure P5-P7 Parents will find her tips and techniques equally insightful. She has 26 years experience working as a Clinical Psychologist with children, young people and families. This has been in Primary Care and CAMHS services, both in the UK and Ireland. She regularly delivers seminars and workshops to parents, teachers and other professionals. Jane has also been Honorary Lecturer at the University of East London and Queen’s University Belfast.

This will be a small group event with a limit of 15 places, Parents who are interested please contact the Office, to book your place, on Monday 4th November, when school reopens after the Hallowe’en Break .

Thank-you, P Mulkerns
