World Book Day

Dear Parents,

There is a great sense of excitement in the school as we prepare for World Book Day, which we will celebrate on Friday. This week all classes have been focusing on “reading for pleasure” and encouraging children to reach for a book for relaxation, enjoyment and escapism. Below I have linked suggested age appropriate popular reading choices for children. I hope you find them useful.
Competition between class groups (or should I say staff) is becoming intense as each class takes on the challenge to decorate their door to represent their favourite book/author. The winners will be chosen by you- our school community. At the weekend photographs of each door will be shared on the schools social media and we ask for you to give a “like” to your favourite one. The winning class will be treated to a special afternoon tea party. All classes work will be celebrated.
We are really looking forward to sharing everybody’s work. Stay tuned for further updates

Regards

P. Byrne
