👯‍♂️ Dance Day Friday!!! 👯‍♂️

Dance Day Fundraiser: Friday 16th May,

Two of our students Laná Boyle (P2) & Faye Campbell (P7) are preparing to embark on an exciting journey to the Dance World Cup, in Burgos, Spain in July with their dance school ‘Newry Dance Theatre Arts’, where they will represent “Team Ireland” competing against teams from all around the world. To even get this far is a huge achievement as to qualify the girls had to be awarded 85 +marks in their dances!

While the opportunity to compete on the world stage is a dream come true, the journey to Spain comes with its challenges. They are actively seeking help cover the costs associated with travel, accommodation, and competition expenses. Any support from the community or local businesses would be greatly appreciated to ensure that these talented dancers along with the rest of their dance school (another 18 dancers) can represent Ireland with pride and distinction at the Dance World Cup with Newry Dance Theatre Arts.

So, this Friday, we invite the St Mary’s P.S. community to join us in celebrating the achievements of these two remarkable dancers and show our support for their upcoming endeavours, by taking part in our Dance Day”. Over the morning every class will have the opportunity to take part in a dance workshop led by members of the Newry Dance, Theatre Arts, all we ask is £1/child or £2/family donation, to help the girls on their way. This will be followed by a Parent + Child workshop from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in the Assembly Hall, where dance and healthy eating will be the focus, members of Newry Dance Theatre Arts and Mary from Thermomix will host the event.

P.S. (We need 30+ Parents, Friends of the school to attend to receive a free thermomix for the school!!!)

A bucket for donations will be at the door for anyone who wishes to make a donation towards the girls’ dance costs.

With talent, determination, and community backing, “Team Ireland” is poised to make a splash at the Dance World Cup and leave a lasting impression on the global stage, so let’s have a fantastic “Day of Dance” on Friday and support the girls on their dance journey!
