On Friday P5/6 visited Newry and Mourne Museum to participate in a Living History Workshop as part of their World War II topic. During the workshop pupils travelled back in time to experience life as a child in the 1940s and to learn about handling Gas Masks, Air Raid Procedures and Make Do and Mend.
Our short film shows very sad faces as P5/6 pupils were evacuated from their families just like the characters Olive and Cliff in their novel “Letters from the Lighthouse”. A big decision for pupils to decide what items to pack into a small suitcase!
