St Mary’s PS was delighted to welcome the Sam Maguire trophy to the school recently. Pupils and staff alike, were all decked out in orange for the occasion and there was a great sense of excitement. The children penned poems, made Sam Maguires and created lots of Armagh-themed artwork for the day. The older pupils also had the opportunity to compose questions for members of the team, which made for a great Q&A session and the school choir led the whole school in the singing of Armagh songs.
Thanks to (grandparent) Noelle from Shanroe Photography for giving freely of her time to come to the school and take photos of the occasion and the time taken afterwards for editing and publishing. Click the link below to see a selection of photos from the day. They turned out great and we may have a big announcement on these photos coming very soon…

There is a great sense of community in St Mary’s and thanks must go to all staff members, who rowed in to help with preparations and decorations for the event. It made the day all the more exciting and memorable for the pupils.
Finally, sincere thanks to past pupils and local team representatives who came along to help make the occasion extra special; the school is extremely proud of all of the past pupils and local members of the successful Armagh team. We imagine the demands on their time must be excessive, currently, and we’re delighted that so many of the pupils’ role models could come along on the day.
