Pupils from P4-P7 had a super day in Kilbroney for the 2019 Cross Country event. All participants gave their all and completed the tough course.
We will have to wait for notification of the results of the team events, however seven St Mary’s pupils had individual medals back home yesterday for finishing in the top 6 (two firsts, two seconds, a third, a fifth and a sixth). In total, twelve pupils achieved a top 10 finish and if we push this out slightly further, an incredible eighteen pupils finished in the top 15 of their race. As the number of participants goes up each year, this is a remarkable achievement and cannot be underestimated.
Well done to all the runners on the day and indeed to all pupils from P4-P7 in St Mary’s who have trained hard during the month of May. Thanks also to all parents who attended the event for their support and assistance with proceedings. We will update further whenever we receive the full results.
