The P7 class of 2022 have left St Mary’s for the final time. The children enjoyed a final day of fun in school on Thursday, having celebrated their Leavers’ Mass the previous night. Thanks to Fr Emlyn for presiding over a lovely ceremony. After mass, all of the P7’s were awarded with their certificates to mark the completion of their primary education at St Mary’s PS.
The two annual awards were then presented to the winners for 2022. The Pius Tierney Cup is awarded annually to a P7 Leaver who the whole staff believe is an embodiment of our school ethos and a reflection of our school motto, “Never Settle for Less than Your Best”. The Anne Murphy Cup is awarded annually to a P7 Leaver who the whole staff believe contributes to the life of the school through their involvement in sport, not only in their final year, but also over the previous six in the school. Well done to the two recipients.
Thanks to Mrs Quinn, who generously took the class over to SPAR Mullaghbawn for an ice-cream treat to mark the end of her time with the year group, having followed them through the school from P2.
We hope that all of the outgoing P7 pupils have a great summer and we wish them well for September and the start of the next stage of their education in Post Primary School. Good luck from everyone in St Mary’s Mullaghbawn!
