Congratulations to our very excited P6 pupil on having won first prize in a very prestigious Art Competition run by the Confucius Institution at the University of Ulster. This competition was open to all pupils learning Chinese Mandarin through the Confucius Classroom Hubs and her winning poster designed to advertise the Chinese New Year 2017, “The Year of the Rooster”, was chosen from a staggering 3,500 entries from Primary and Post Primary schools across Northern Ireland. It will be commercially replicated to advertise the NI Chinese New Year Celebrations. Her prize includes two vouchers from Waterstones, one for herself and one for her class, as well as an invite to the Mac Theatre in Belfast to join the Chinese New Year Celebrations.
