Earth Science Week

P6 pupils were lucky enough to attend an “Earth, Science Week” event at Slieve Gullion, Courtyard today. Focusing on the geology and landscape of our area, pupils had the opportunity to learn how the landscape and geology formed through a series of interactive workshops. They tried their hand at: Exploding volcanoes, predicting earthquakes, creating and watching glaciers race, being rock detectives and investigating fossils!

Thank you to Newry, Mourne and Down, District Council for hosting the event in conjunction with the Geological Survey of Northern Ireland and giving P6 the opportunity to attend, everyone had a great time and learned lots!
