Important Notice to Parents/Guardians

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Following the enforced closure on Monday, 22nd January, due to an interruption of the power supply I wish to highlight some issues that we have had to deal with.

  • The impact on light, heating and meals. The specific failure of the power supply compromised our ability to warm the school building to an acceptable temperature and prevented us from being able to provide a school meal which we are legally obligated to provide for those children entitled to free school meals.
  • The impact on communication from school to homes and vice-versa. Not being able to deal with messaging due to the collapse of Wi-Fi and not being able to send messages because of poor mobile signal made circumstances very difficult.

It is forecast that we are to experience further stormy weather tonight as storm Jocelyn approaches, threatening again to impact on our electricity supply.

If we experience a further power cut at the school, I would advise that you watch out for messages posted on Social Media from a different location.

In order to keep the school open we need to provide heat and dinners failure to secure this provision will mean school closure.
