Congratulations to the St Mary’s girls’ Gaelic team who won the Mary O’Reilly Cup for the first time yesterday. This is a wonderful achievement to win the prestigious cup, in memory of a very special Gael, amid stiff competition from the largest schools in the whole of the county. This follows on from the recent Malachy McGeeney Cup win and marks an extremely successful year for the girls and Miss Murphy.
Another special mention to the boys’ team who narrowly missed out in their quest for the McGreevy Shield after overcoming some tough opposition earlier in the day.
Well done to all of the children working hard to improve their skills and have fun with their friends at the weekly trainings. One more outing remains for both the boys’ and girls’ teams before another year of busy Allianz Cumann na mBunscol activities comes to a close.
Thanks to Mr Paul Doyle for coordinating events yesterday and to the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol committee for their efforts all year.
