Our Visitors from Catalan

Excitement is reaching fever pitch in Key Stage 2 as we prepare to welcome, past pupil Cormac Walsh and a group of 20 pupils and 4 staff, from his school in Barcelona, to St . Mary’s tomorrow. A special Assembly is being prepared, show casing the talents of St. Mary’s pupils in dancing, music, singing and recitation, giving the visitors a taste of Irish culture. The visiting pupils will then join P 5 & 6 classes for the day, taking part in group activities, where we will learn about and share information, on our 2 countries, Ireland /Spain, our city and village- Barcelona and Mullaghbawn, our 2 schools and cultures. The visitors have then kindly asked that some of their new St. Mary’s friends join them for a range of social events over the weekend, the lucky pupils chosen to attend these events will be told further details Friday afternoon!!

(So P 5, 6 & 7, remember you are Ambassadors for our school and your community, and those who go out off their way to make our guests feel welcome will be given first choice on the weekend’s social events!!!)
