“World Down Syndrome Day” takes place annually on the 21st of March. This date is specifically chosen to represent the extra copy of the 21st chromosome that people with Down Syndrome are born with.
To mark the day and to raise funds for the Newry based charity “Down Right Brilliant” we are asking everyone to “rock their odd socks” tomorrow and we will make a donation to the charity from money raised through our 50/50 draw.
Currently the charity support 58 families across the Newry, Mourne and Down area. Members ranging from babies to young adults are supported through the provision of a range of fun activities, which help develop friendships and social skills, as well as promoting positive health and wellbeing.
So… rock your odd socks tomorrow and we will make a donation on your behalf to this worthy cause!
