As Christmas approaches and with new devices and technology gadgets likely to be popular Christmas gifts in many homes, the PSNI have issued advice to Parents via their website on keeping children safe online, and have asked us to share this with you. Worryingly, they report that online child abuse has risen by 80% over the last three years, with many children being approached by predators online and through gaming platforms.
Advice can be found on their website at the link below, including on: checking the privacy, location and parental controls on devices that your child uses, checking the direct message and chat functions on apps, using parental controls and having open conversations with your child about what they are doing online.
