Our P 7 Pupils had a busy morning, learning some very important 1st Aid and Life Saving skills. They began by dramatising some different 1st aid situations, which could occur in any of our homes or classes, including how to deal with excessive bleeding, broken bones and bangs to the head. They then moved on to, “The Push Over” a procedure for putting a casualty into a safe position which ensures the airways are kept open if the casualty is unconscious. Finally everyone had the opportunity to practise chest compressions on “Norman” our very patient casualty!
Thank you to Sarah from the Red Cross, Youth Section for taking the course and we hope everyone is more confident and better equipped to deal with any emergencies which could occur.
