This Sunday, April 2nd the quiz team from St Mary’s Primary School in Mullaghbawn will travel to the RDS Arena in Dublin to take part in the National Final of the prestigious annual Credit Union Quiz, for the first time in the history of the school. The team of P7 pupils won through the local Slieve Gullion heat in Forkhill Community Centre before going one better to qualify from the regional Chapter 4 event in The Canal Court Hotel, Newry (pictured above).
A special word of thanks must go to Slieve Gullion Credit Union for their continued support. Aishling Rice called in today to give goody-bags to the children and make a presentation to the school (pictured above). This sense of community has provided the team with great encouragement, as has the coverage in local press.
It is a remarkable achievement to be in the last 25 of the Under-13 competition that was open to schools from the length and breadth of Ireland. Everyone associated with St Mary’s wishes to congratulate our team for making it this far and let them know that we are behind them all the way ahead of the final!
