Today was no ordinary day at St Mary’s, as our postponed World Book Day event was combined with a Green Day. Lots of funds were raised, in the name of our patron saint, to help finance some new seeds and planting equipment to improve the exterior of our school.

Mrs Murphy (aka Gansta Granny) and her team of assistants coordinated many great activities, including a book swap and book lottery. Well over 1,000 books have found a new home this evening, with every pupil in the school getting their hands on at least one new title.

There will be plenty of reading in Mullaghbawn over St Patrick’s weekend as a result of this joint literacy and Eco schools initiative.
