This morning at Assembly we heard about Pope Francis’s Jubilee Year, 2025, which was launched during Advent and runs until the Feast of the Epiphany in 2026.
A landmark moment in the life of the global Catholic Church it invites school communities all around the world to join together as pilgrims of hope, pledging to work together for God’s kingdom of justice, peace and love.
We looked at the Jubilee logo and noticed the 4 elements:
The cross, reminding us of Jesus, and a symbol of faith and hope.
The 4 figures representing all the people of the Earth, their arms entwined to show solidarity and friendship.
The waves, symbolising our journey together and recognising that, that journey isn’t always smooth.
Finally the anchor, a symbol of hope, an anchor steadies ships during storms and rough weather.
