P6, P6/7 & P7 pupils undertook a special Christmas mission over the course of the past two weeks. They decided to select three ‘gift idea tags’ from the St Vincent de Paul Christmas tree in St Mary’s Church and raise money towards it. The Student council organised a very successful Christmas Jumper Day and the older pupils brought in a little extra from their own savings. A great sum of money was raised and a representative from each class returned the gifts back to the church this morning. There were £50 vouchers for Smyths, The Quays & The Buttercrane.
As well as this, pupils in KS2 (P5, P6, P6/7 & P7) prepared a very special assembly that highlighted the importance of thinking of those less fortunate than ourselves at this time of the year. KS1 were that inspired by the presentation that they then chose St Vincent de Paul as their charity of choice to present the proceeds from their Christmas Concert raffle. Everyone in St Mary’s is very much in the spirit of giving this Christmas and it feels… GREAT!
