Supporting Down Syndrome Awareness

Yesterday we joined in a worldwide celebration in support of those with Down Syndrome. Wearing our odd socks with pride, we had a wonderful day discussing everyone’s talents and abilities. Such young children see the world in such a straightforward way and it is a tonic to hear what Down syndrome means to them.  Their comments about Aaron included, “He is the same as me only he can run faster”, “ He gives me seven hugs everyday”, “ He is very good at drawing”, He loves Mr Tumble and Peppa”, “ I like building blocks with him”…… The fondness all the class spoke of Aaron clearly shows the huge impression he has made on them and indeed us, the staff.  Aaron brightens every day with his huge personality, his sense of humour, his love and a natural inclination to give a hug just when it is needed most.
