If over the festive season, you visit either St Mary’s Church, Mullaghbawn or the Church of Our Lady Queen of Peace, Aughanduff, look out for our “Jesse trees”. Jesse was the father of King David and the many, many times, great, grandfather of Jesus.
Our P6/7 and P7 classes have adorned the Jesse trees with illustrations representing the people, prophesies, and events leading up to the birth of Jesus, connecting our modern custom of decorating Christmas trees, to the story of God in the Old Testament.
We hope everyone who visits the Churches draws some comfort and peace from them this Christmas season.
