P6 Forest School Experience at An Tobar

On Friday past, P6 completed their 6 week Forest School project at An Tobar Wellness Centre, Silverbridge. The children had the chance to connect with nature through games, songs, practical activities and much more. Some highlights included a tour of Brian’s wood, learning how to set up a camp fire by leaving no trace, as well as the weekly treats cooked by the fire. To top of the experience, UTV show, “Rare Breeds,” were filming during one of our visits to An Tobar and this will be aired in the new year.

Our pupils had such a wonderful time learning outdoors with Kathleen, Maggie, Hannah & Louise, that they have been lobbying the school councillors to work towards making this an annual project for a class within our school. P6 would also highly recommend An Tobar to other local schools looking for an opportunity to bring learning outdoors.

Thanks to everyone at An Tobar for their efforts in making the project such a success. Also, congratulations on the recent National Lottery Award win!
